What’s on in the Yarra Valley this Summer
As the warmer weather slowly arrives in Melbourne – it’s time to start planning your summer! The Yarra Valley is not only home to incredible food and wine experiences, but some fantastic events as well. So we’ve come up with some suggestions of fun things to do in the Valley this summer.
A Day On The Green Concert Series @ Rochford Wines
A Day On The Green returns to the Yarra Valley this summer with some fantastic Australian and international artists lined up to play in the vineyards at Rochford Wines. On January 10th there’s an all-Aussie line up headlined by Cold Chisel and featuring Birds of Tokyo, Magic Dirt and The Detonators. Then Elton John returns to the Yarra Valley for two (sold out) concerts. Following up on February 22nd are pop icons a-ha, with special guest Rick Astley and synth-pop stars Pseudo Echo and I Know Leopard.
Farmers Market @ Yering Station
The December Farmer’s Market at Yering Station is a great opportunity to grab fresh / handmade / home-grown gourmet produce – all in one place! Their December market is scheduled for Sunday 15th in the historic barn and the range of produce and products on offer is almost too long to list. In addition to fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables you will find organic breads, jams, preserves and sauces, olive oils, meats, chocolates, fresh-ground coffee and beans, teas, ice-cream, homemade pasta, free-range eggs, and so much more!
Rocky Road Workshops @ Yarra Valley Chocolaterie
This is an event for the whole family, and one not to be missed for chocolate-lovers out there. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Icecreamery is inviting you to taste and create Rocky Road in their specialty workshops this summer. The classes allow you to taste 12 of the most popular chocolates from the specialty ranges then you can create your very own Rocky Road – choosing from over 50 ingredients to blend with either milk, dark or white chocolate. The workshops are available all day on January 4th, 11th and 18th.
Locale Restaurant Premium Experience @ DeBortoli Wines
