Melbourne’s Favourite Night Market is Back For Its Biggest Summer Yet!

With incredible food, crafts and fun activities all under one roof, people flock in their thousands to see what the Queen Victoria Market has to offer. Melbourne’s original Night Market is the place to meet every Wednesday night during Summer to feast on global street food, browse vintage fashion offers, experience emerging Melbourne designers and enjoy live performances from local and international acts.

Entering its 21st season, the Night Market has been on Melbourne’s Summer calendar since 1998. We’ve put together our top tips to get the most out the market!

Don’t be afraid to try something new
The Queen Victoria Market is the perfect place to try a range of new food you haven’t eaten before. With a massive selection from across the globe, there’s no doubt you’ll have the luxury of choice.

Souvlakis, Aaella, Arancini balls and Tacos are just some of the local delights you can try at the market. Dabble in something you haven’t tried before. Be bold, be adventurous!

Be prepared to wait in line
Like we said before – thousands of people flock to the night market to be part of the action. We also said the food is delicious, so much so that you might have to wait in line for 10 – 15 minutes to get the food you’ve been thinking about all day. The market runs from 5 – 10pm each Wednesday. So if you aren’t a fan of large crowds, head to the market when they open and beat the rush.

Enjoy everything while you are there, not just the food
It’s not just about filling up your stomach, there are plenty of other fun activities to enjoy!  Enjoy special themed nights, new and exciting vendors, special bar offers, free live entertainment and all the summer atmosphere you know and love at Melbourne’s biggest Wednesday night party!

With over 200 traders, you’ll find something new to explore every week. There’s also a live music stage showcasing some of Melbourne’s best local talent! Check out their website and stay posted for the new acts that are added throughout the season.

Don’t forget to check out the craft stores
With stores that provide small plants and home-wares to hand made wooden furniture, there will be something there for everyone. Alongside the homemade crafts, there are stalls filled with incredible local art that is worth going to have a look at before you head home with a big smile and a full belly.

Let’s bring on summer with open arms. The summer night market takes place every Wednesday night from the 21st of November 2018 to the 20th of March 2019. Check out some of the highlights of last years Summer market season below.
